Farmall 450 gas was it 6 volt or 12 volt originally

According to the information in my TC-55A 400 & 450 parts book, your 450 gas could have come from the factory with either 6-volt or 12-volt. Parts book says 450s built with serial #s 501 to 11083 were 6-volt. 450s with serial # 11084 and up came with 12-volt. So you have to check your serial number to determine if it was 6 or 12 volt from the factory. If your 450 is already 12-volt, I would leave it 12-volt even if the serial number is less than 11084. Gas 450's
serial numbers 501-11083 were 6 volt, 11084 on up were 12.

Diesel 450's were 12 volt to the starter, 6 to the distributer. The parts book has this break down:
501 -13490 6 volt, 13491 on up 12.

Hope this helps.

Not trying to cause trouble but I have a 450 seral number 22423 that is 6 volt. All numbers match up for 1958.
