Not able to get spark to plugs, this tractor has a 12 v pos ground. 6 volt starter. from the ign switch to the white ceramic resistor 12.7 v. and the wire from the bottom of resistor to the coil has 12.7 v. I was expecting a drop of voltage there. cap, rotor and points look to be in pretty good shape. cannot see any spark on wires. I"m not sure what the gap setting of the points should be. msybe .015 to .o2o. correct me on that.

All is well with the voltage readings if the points are open!
Check the voltage at the side of the distributor when the cap is off, and you are opening and closing the points. This should also make spark!, be careful!
If it does not, check the pass through for opens or grounds to the housing. Plastic insulators must be in place. Jim

I didn't have a feeler guge, so uses a small piece of paper folded twice. thinking paper is about .003 times 4 would give me .012 plus the strips had gaps between them. put it together and it fired up so fast It almost scared the heck out of me. thanks for the help.
