Use a postal money order, tell them to ship by a method that uses tracking numbers and to give you the number. The receiver handles the MO just like a check. If they don't ship, it is mail fraud and a postal inspector will look into it.

Next time somebody complains about the post office not being competitive, tell them to ask UPS or Fedex to follow up on a non-shipper.

PayPal has the same buyer protection as eBay. I don't think you pay a premium for the service. Should be able to collect the money paid out within a couple of weeks if the eBay and PayPal services are comparable.

I believe both the buyer and seller need PayPal accounts. Anyway, all the details are spelled out on the PayPal site.

Ya gotta deal with reputable sellers. Yeah I know it's hard to know all the bad ones but if you find a few good ones ya tend ta stick with em. I sent you an email.

Have them shipped COD..There is a fee for this service,,but it is better to pay the fee than lose everything..

Well, I agree on using USPS money order. I have bought a few things from the classifieds, and have had good luck so far. However, I always request a phone number and talk to the person. If I don't get a "warm fuzzy" when talking on the phone with them, then I don't deal. Simple. Shysters are not hard to figure out, just talk to them for 2-3 mins, and their true colors tend to show.

Ebay is also a good source. Prices are all over the board, and fee's are outrageous, but the seller bears most of that cost. I have found some decent deals there, and have absolutely found some really rare items (and paid through the nose for them also). But at the end of the day, if you want to play, you gotta play. If you don't like the price, then don't buy it. simple.

I just paid a painful amount for an item, but it is rare in this area, and was in great condition. It was my choice to do so. F&H rear wheel weights for my F&H rear spokes on my F-12. I find them out west all the time, but shipping is a killer. Found a local pair and bought them.........leaving a serious hole in my play money......but I now have them none the less.
