Farmall Cub generator belt

I have a 1948 cub that I"m restoring currently from being a literal "basket case". Does anyone know the correct belt size for the generator belt? I have a new one that was supposedly matched to the old one but it is too long. A NAPA part # would really help me. Thanks in advance!

Whats the length of the belt you now have and go from there. Any belt supplier should have a listing for what you need. Length of belt will be on the jacket of the new belt.

The Belt I have now is a new one but too long. I purchased it over a year ago. When I bought it I took the old belt that was on the tractor in with me to the store to match it up. Until this week I never had a upper generator bracket to check if the belt was correct or not. I think herin lies the problem. the previous owner had things so darn cobled up incorrectly and took so many parts off of this poor old tractor that I trust very little of what was on it. I've spent the last 5 years trying to buy back all of the parts that were taken off of this thing and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how they go back together. This being the first Cub I've ever worked on, it's been pretty rough trying to figure things out. I've had to go with pictures online and in literature so far to get me as far along as I am now. Cub's were not a common tractor in my area of SW. Iowa so not too many tractors to look at and compare to around here unfortunately.Sorry for the rant but I am frustrated after five years. I think I'm so close to having this thing complete and running, but not there yet.

Somebody here can probably tell you just what you need, but if not...

Getting the exact manufacturer's specified length really shouldn't be critical.

If you have the old one, simply measure it yourself instead of trying to match it side by side to another belt. I ususally just cut them and measure the length. You can't get more accurate than that.

Or, if the one you have is close - just buy the next two sizes down, keep the one that fits the best, return the other.

If it's way off and you have no idea where to start. Put the generator roughly where it needs to be, and use a loop of rope like a belt, then measure it to get a good estimate.

if you need pictures of how something looks on the cub, just give us a hollar. i have a cub also.

The parts book says = there are 2, The one for the older Cub is 351 321 R1
After sir. # is 358 213 R1
I got mine at NAPA
