340 oil pan needed

Well, was going to change the oil and wrenching on the drain plug and the part that protrudes down from the pan (actually part of the pan itself) broke out. It had been bent before from hitting something. Got in a hurry by trying to do it myself with arc weld and now have 2 extra holes blown through the pan beside it.( each blow hole is maybe half the size of a dime) Maybe I can get it welded properly??? I looked at link_disallowed and they want $195 mfor a used one!

I bought one for a Super A from Wengers for a lot less than that. You might call Bates Corp-800-248-2955.

Braze it.the same thing happened to my SM-the 'boss'(threaded part) twisted out.Used brass to repair it.Pound everything'flat',put a thin metal patch(braze it)over the holes and you will be good to go!Good luck,Steve

I arc weld that kind of stuff all the time without blowing it full of holes. I have 2 kids that are welders(mig & tig wire feed etc ) that can't understand how I do it. Brazing will do the job too. Pull the pan first.
