I have a 1970 756 gas with a factory cab. Bought it at an auction and the wiring is all jacked up bad. I"m looking for The Tractor Vet on here. "when i rewire one i do things a bit differant i install two 20 amp self reseting breakers and a CV relay and split the headlites , i run the headlites and dash litesand the red tail lite off one breaker then bring a hot wire up to the next breaker and also one side of the cv relay and pull a trigger wire off the liteswitch to the cv relay for the work lite as this takes a big load off the switch and they last three times as long , i also stay with the color code and use all factory connections and harness, Oh also run the flasher off the head lite side." If you have a drawing of the way you wired yours with the circuit breakers and relay I would be greatful. Of course I need the whole diagram, not just the lights. Would also like to know any recommendations on where to get the breakers and relay and the specs for them. I"ll probably use a relay and separate breakers for the cab, if you have a wiring diagram for a cab I"d be really happy too! I really like The Tractor Vet"s wiring, but if anybody else has a good diagram I"m all ears! Hope you can help!

well first off i do not have a wiring diagram of the way i do it . as i never set down to draw one up . I start off by using the hot wire that use to go to the fuse holder and feed a 20 amp breaker and from there to the hot post of the head light switch . Then i use the work light wire off the head light switch to feed a 30 amp relay and get power for the relay from the hot post on the starter to another 20 amp breaker and come off it to feed the relay then from the relay to the work light system . Now if you harness is that screwed up i do not know what to tell ya as i can not see it myself. And i have no idea on what all is needed . you may need a complete new harness . Keep in mind that your tractor has a resistor wire that feeds the points and here i have no idea on where you would ever find that wire to build a new harness like factory. I just got tired of always replacing the head light switches as the switch will not stand up to four headlights and one back light for long and add a couple more lights like everybody does and the fuse can not handle it . After i found myself standing in the dark one night at 2 in the morning while plowing and trying to find the little box of spare fuses in the tool box in total darkness plus the fact that i was five miles from my truck i solves that problem by doing this .

Thanks Vet, I was just hoping for a quick easy fix. Looks like I'm going to have to do it the old fashioned way - tear into it and make notes as I go along, then design it my own way. The harness is really jacked bad and from what I can tell I didn't like the way they did it anyhow. I have no manuals whatsoever - would you by any chance have a factory wiring diagram for it? That would at least tell me how everything was interfaced originally while I wait for my manuals to come in from IH. I found wiring diagrams on Carter & Gruenewald's site and it has everything BUT the 56 series tractors. Mine's an F756 with delux fenders and cab. If anybody out there has a complete wiring diagram they can scan in for me I'd much appreciate it. Thanks again!
