Looking for distillate manifold shutter and manifold photos

Does anyone have any photos of shutters for an M?
Also would like to get one looking down inside a distillate manifold. I tried the archives but no dice.

I'm still wanting to put one of my M's back with distillate equip and that's the two parts that are hardest to locate. Have a good tractor show coming up this fall and a photo would help me spot the shutters.

I have a set of shutters for my H that I haven't installed yet. The H and the M had the same shutter setup, just different sizes (I think). I'll try to take a couple of pictures for you tomorrow, and post the dimensions if someone else doesn't. The M shutters should look just like them, just larger. If I have my info wrong, someone will correct me.

The dist manifold will have a couple studs/bolts coming just above the carb and up above to hold the heat sheild on. It will also have a flipper on the outside to adjust the heat setting. IMO, it is also boxier in apperance than the gas manifold.

I think there is a drawing of the shutters and the stuff to run them in the parts diagrams. Just go to CNH and look them up. Not sure if they have pictures of both types of manifolds.

I'm curious as to the size of the shutter compared to the radiator. For the H do they completely cover the core or is there some gap at the top or bottom?

They cover most of the core. Not sure if they cover the rest. I haven't had mine on in quite a while.

Well, they definately cover side to side since that is how they bolt on. If they are like the F series, then they will cover the entire opening in the outer frame area. I haven't installed mine yet, so can't say for sure. Ran out of time today, and did not get a chance to photo or measure. Will try to get to it tomorrow.

You could bend up the heat shield with some time and patience.
I forgot I had a picture of one installed on a tractor. You can see the studs I refered to that were used for mounting the shield.

Thanks for uploading this!

I saved a copy of it. I notice the hood has a clearance notch cut into it. I don"t remember offhand if the distillate hood I have has that or not. I"m out on the road so can"t go out and look either!

It is more of a bend out than a notch. I'm sure it has it.

I would like one overall view and a closeup of the top and one of the bottom that illustrate where the operating lever attaches to the vanes and how the vanes go into the supports.

Thanks for replying even though this is way down on page infinity!

Well, it ain't restored yet, but they work.
