My 1950 Super A has a Carter UT carb with only one visiable screw on the carb, is this a air / fuel mix screw? And if so what is the setting? I read somewhere 3 full turns out on this screw....sound right to anyone. Thanks for the help.

Look again there are two. The one in the throat is for idle mixture and the other on the throttle shaft is for idle speed.

Is the fuel mixture setting 3 full turns out? If I understand correctly you run the screw in tight and then back it out 3 full turns....can anyone verify this for me......thanks again.

The only mixture screw on that carb is your
idle mixture. It has a fixed main jet orifice
instead of an adjustable jet.
3 turns is usually for a main jet, but only as a
starting point.
Idle screws are typically between 1 and 2 turns
as a starting point and your final adjustment
could be 1/2 or 3 turns.

Like the other poster said, there is also a screw
for your idle speed near the throttle shaft.

remember, carb adjustments vary greatly from
the initial number of turns mentioned in the
book for installation.

good luck
