steering gear on H

On my H the steering gear has too much play in it. How do I adjust the worm gear and the half gear that rotates the spindle?

I did mine by removing the large cap with the hex head on it and putting a washer inside the cap on the end of the worm shaft. It tightened it up very nicely.

There is no adjustment on the half gear. If it is worn out you need to replace it. Otherwise, the only adjustments that can be made are to make sure the big pipe plug at the front is tightened securely and is putting a pre-load on the bearing. You may need a new bearing and/or a new pipe plug. Both are readily available.
