Woods Mower on Super A

What would it take to adapt my woods mower which is on a Cub to a Super A? Is there a kit from woods?

Thanks

If I remember right, the PTO on a cub turns in the opposite direction of the Farmall A, which means the mower blades will be turning in the opposite direction also.

Also, the Farmall A can handle a wider mower than the Cub. I think it would be a better idea to get a mower desingned to work with the A than to try and cobble the Cub mower to fit the A.

You should call your local Woods Mower dealer. They would probably know if there's a kit available to make the change. You will probably need the model number of the mower on the Cub. Hal

The mounting for the SA or A is much different than the CUB if we are talking the Woods 59. You can buy a mounting kit from Woods but you wont like the price. Got to start with the pulley and go from there.

Some people, myself included, have a Cub with a 60" Woods mower on it. (Not the best at cutting as far as power is concerned, but it will work.)

You cna use that L59 mower with a mounting kit. Its not the headache that some paint it to be. Probably a much cheaper option then trying to find a A mower.

The kits are still available from Woods.

All you need to do to change rotation is just rewind the belt on the center spindle from right hand rotation to left then follow thru for left and right spindles. I have one of each and thats the way its done

Go to the Woods website and download a parts manual, then you will know what you are getting into. Price can be obtained by giving the part numbers to the parts guy at the nearest dealer. Much simpler for you to look up the parts first rather than depend on the dealer, who is probably a tractor dealer that does not know much about the mowers. You can't order from the factory.

Where do you live as the freight on the mount for the A could be expensive it is heavy and pretty good size. You do mean the Woods 59 correct.

ok I have put several cub mowers on super A's in the past for my relatives. First I looked up what brackets I needed and then I watched ebay. I had most parts to do this job for less then $100.00 I then mounted the mower knowing that the blades for a cub turn opposite of a Super A.
All you have to do is put a twist or cross the belt and it turns the blades the correct direction and it works fine. you just can not change the blades because the cub has right hand threaded spindles and the Super A would have left handed thread spindles. almost all other tractors would be set up like a Super A.
If you have the Cub Mower L59 then use it but if you are looking at buying one then I would look for the right one with the right brackets. usualy you can find a L59 for about $500 in my area for a super A or Reguler A. like I said use the cub mower if you have it and if not look for the correct one. last I checked a new woods L59 was $2200.00 so getting one for $300-$700 used is a good buy. feel free to email me and I will talk you through how to do this it is very easy and with a little effort on ebay you can get the parts you need reasonable.
contact me anytime and I will help. You may even beable to sell your left over cub parts or hang on to them incase you find another woods sitting on the road side for $100.00 like I did now I have to cutting tractors I prefer the A but the cub does a good job if the grass is kept cut in a timely mannor. like I sad email me and I will help you out.
