1466 getting diesel fuel in engine oil

Been checking the dip stick and I have been gaining oil on the stick. Drained the oil today and about a gallon over full. I know what causes that on my old 856 and 806's but don't know on the DT 436 motors what causing diesel getting in the oil????

The most common leak is probably the square ring seal between the pump head and the injection pump housing. Another possibility is the seal for the transfer bump on the rear of the pump.

Owen. Would one of these seals cause it to loose prime after it sits for a couple of days? If it sits for three or more days you have to use the primer pump because it looses prime and will not start. Pump it about three or four pumps and starts rite up.

Both of them may cause the problem but the head seal ring is more likely to do so.
