[b:458baf858b]Its been a while since I updated you guys on my M, I've been busy working but I was off all last week and got a lot of work done to it. Majority of the small stuff is done and painted (atleast for the rear) I got new tires and rims friday. Went with some 15.5-38 Galaxy Power Drive tires and Unverferth 14x38 rims. So saturday I put them on and finished prepping the rear end, I would have gotten paint on it but I ran out of thinner, so that will have to wait til later in the week. Dad found the serial tag last week and come to find out its a 1951, serial # 249044. Anyways, heres some pics... Ill have more soon.[/b:458baf858b]

(quoted from post at 17:13:15 07/25/11) Wow! Those rear tires look awesome! Just out of curiosity, what wass the cost on the tires?

Thanks

Stumpy

$500.25 per tire (15.5-38 ) plus $15 a piece to have them mounted, Rims (14x38) were $275 each. 11x38 rims were the same price, and a 13.6-38 was only $60 cheaper a tire.

(quoted from post at 17:19:23 07/25/11) Nice progress so far. Who makes the Galaxy Power Drive tire?

the guy at the tire shop told me and I cannot remember who he said made them... I wanna say Alliance?

Gans Tire in Malden, MA used to own that brand. Probably still does. I believe most of their molds are located off-shore. They have a big line of construction and truck tires as well. Their warehouse, located next to the corporate offices, is crammed full of big tires. They are OEM to a number of equipment brands, particularly skid steers. They have nationwide, perhaps worldwide, distribution.

All this info is about 15 years old. Things may have changed.

[b:80188f3c28]heres a couple more pics. Saturday morning I sprayed the rear end, then Sunday I started to put some things back on, Put the belt pulley block off plate on, PTO seal housing on, Fender Brackets, and Seat Frame. I also started to tear down the front of the tractor, removed the Air Cleaner, Radiator, Alternator and wiring harness. Sprayed the motor down with some Purple Power cleaner/degreaser. Hopefully Friday and Saturday Ill have the front half powerwashed, wirewheeled and prepped. The Goal im shooting for is to be done by the end of August, theres a tractor show in early Sept and I'd really like to make it there.

Enjoy![/b:80188f3c28]
