IH 105 pitmanless sickle mower gearbox

Something got loose in the pitmanless gearbox of my IH mower today. Now the shaft that cycles back and forth makes a loud shaking noise and is loose. ANy take one of these apart before? ANy advice? THanks

They have a bearing on bottom that is prone to fail, it sits on a tapered pin with a set screw in the bottom of cast housing, if this is OK then its inside, not easy to work on, 100 thru 120 series & later 1000 thru 1300 have same mechanism.

Agreed. Tearing one of those apart is a real bear.

Massey You will need help from some one who knows these balanced hwad mowers, to rebuild it. Then it will need tobe run in or brake in. The problem with this mower is the gut on the tractor, never run over PTO speed 540 or 1000 which ever the mower is set up for.

I have another model 110 pitmanless mower too. Do you think that gearbox will switch out?

It appears to be same as much as I can tell from parts list.
