Hello. I have a 1930 Farmall Regular and it does not have any Exhaust/Intake Manifold Studs in it. My question is what size studs do I need? Are they all the same lenght? Do they have to ba a certain grade? THANKS ALL

If it has the original Regular manifold they are all the same length. If it's something else how would I know? They are 1/2 inch. If you want you can get by with bolts. They don't need to be extra hard. I'd put some never seize on the threads.

The studs are 1/2" in diameter and 4 3/4" long I think, one end is coarse threaded where it screws into the head and the other end was originally fine threaded. You can buy new studs from The Fordson House, Gordon Rice (Rice Equipment) or Tom Underwood (Parts of the Past)

Hello, Stevie, still planning on e-mailing you back. Studs are used on McCormick- Deering tractors of that vintage as the holes go into the water jackets. Bolts threaded in are tougher to seal off, but it can be done with thread tape. I try to use studs. I can measure a manifold and tell you how long they need be, may be able to have a local machinist make you some.

Go to an old auto parts store that has been bought out by a chain and ask them if they have any stud bolts.
A store in Springfield, Illinois gave them to me because "They are not in the computer."
