SC - Is something up with this front end?

Below is a link to a used Super C in my area. I'm pretty sure that I have met the seller who last time I checked had two SC and two 200 Farmalls, plus a few modern tractors. He has owned them for years and was still using the Farmalls for everyday chores around his farm.

My question is about the grill in the SC being advertised. The hole for the hand crank seems to be a very small round hole instead of the normally shaped hole on these tractors. When I saw it in person, it seemed too small for a hand crank to enter. What gives?

Other than that, it runs well. Just needs some cleaning up and air in the rear tires!

Thanks for any insight that you can provide.

You should post that as a link. Post the serial number of the tractor. Some of the Super C's had wide front ends. Hal
PS: All the Super C's had 6 digit serial numbers. Starting S/N's

1951-100001
1952-131157
1953-159130

Looks like someone patched the hole and made it too small. A crank is very handy on those tractors, particularly when you are trying to get it timed right. The Farmall emblem is incorrect, all SC's and all or nearly all C's had IH for an emblem. New, used or rebuilt grills are available if you have the money -- not cheap.

The emblem is WRONG. It should be a square IH logo, regardless whether it's a C or a Super C.

That grille is off an A or B.

A and B grills won't fit a SC because of the taller radiator. Note the wide strip at the bottom, and the screws someone put the wrong emblem on with. I have seen a couple of pictures of very early C's with the Farmall emblem, But they may have been prototypes. My 1st year of production C has IH.
