I have a farmall b thats been sitting for years before i owned it the exhaust was not covered and its engine is stuck. i found an engine from a farmall c priced reasonably. what problems would i have swapping the c engine into the b ? thanks. Jim

They have the same engine, 113 CI, so you shouldn't have any major difficulties. You may want to make for certain that your "C" isn't really a "Super C", because the SCs had a 123 CI engine.

None you will need a plate to block off the hole where the hy pump fits. New sleeves and pistons can be had for 54 a hole then you know what you have for an engine. Used engines can have problems too. If you swap out engines the Bs block is worth some good money. So is the head dont sell for scrap.

I have a plate to cover where the hydraulic pump would go if you need it.

It came from my B (with super A engine) but since I have a hydraulic pump on it now I don't need it.

If the C engine has a pump on it, why not keep it and add hydraulics to the B?

I agree completely. I put a pump on my B, added a small reservoir behind the air cleaner, & plumbed in a 2 spool 2-way valve. I now have a 6 1/2 foot snow plow mounted on the front with power angle. Very handy.
