Hydralic fluid for a Super A?

I had someone tell me that a straight 10W oil was all that was used in the Super A for Hydralic fluid. Can anyone confirm this for me.... I haven't been able to locate any info on this in my manual.

I rebuilt the hydraulic unit on my Super A last winter and refilled it with CIH Hy Tran, I have read on here you could use any oil that meets the specs, I believe some have mentioned the stuff sold at TSC (Travelall I think it is)

You can use any HY oil or 30 wt HY-TRAN didnt come till later. If the level in the pump goes down and the crankcase goes up the seal in the pump is bad and is an easy fix.

The manual was written before "hydraulic fluid" was invented.

Any hydraulic fluid is better than plain old engine oil. If you want to be an IH purist, HyTran is the "correct" fluid to put in it.

Even Walmart has HyTran-compatible hydraulic fluid in stock.
