Looking for opinions on the IH 3414 Industrial

Hi all, looking for a solid tractor for my small farm to bushhog, move manure, and plow snow. I'm in western PA and I'm not seeing too many reasonably priced compacts. I'm looking at a 3414 (diesel) with a front loader, power steering, 8 forward/8 reverse gears, LPTO, and recently added wheel weights for $5000. Does that sound reasonable? I'm currently running a 1941 9N and am looking to upgrade to something needing less maintenance, but with more guts!

Thanks!

Tony,The co.I worked for years ago had one that we actually abused and I always thought it was a good tractor.If I remember correctly it had a foot operated petal that locked the differential in so it would have positive traction.It had a loader on the front with a counterweight on the back for traction,we mostly used it for loading sand,I think it orginially had a backhoe on it,

James,

yep, this one has the foot petal throttle which is nice with the front loader...it's currently being used on a farm to move 1500lb round bales of hay around. It seems to be a strong runner and a beefy compact for my little hilly farm!

Tony,this was not a foot throtle it was a differential lock,so both wheels would pull the same time{If one wheel was spining you could step on the pedal and the other wheel would pull}

I have a beatup 3414 and its like a energizer buddy it keeps on running. Down side is parts are hard to find its british built. I have had mine for 5 years. a few problems but it starts and does what I ask. If you are handy it is a real good tractor
