i found the number on the block of a IH 4cyl they are 400336R1 and under it 9 9 R. Just wondering if anyone knows the specs on it and possibly what tractrs it may fit in... thanks

Well, 9 9 R translates to a casting date of either September 9, 1946, and was recycled again to mean September 9, 1969.

WHAT do you have, a gas engine or a diesel engine?

its is a gas engine, may dad said he thinks is came off a haybine, he rebuilt it for a air compressor but now is junking the compressor. thats why i was wondering what tractor it my fit is so maybe i could biuld a tractor.
