Cummins conversion

I have a chance to buy an 806 gas with a badly blown motor but otherwise in good shape. Has anyone out in IH land converted an '06 or '56 series either to 4BT or 6B, 6BT Cummins? Yes I know I could put an IH engine in there but I have access to VERY inexpensive Cummins.

There have been several cummins convertions stories covered in "Farm Show"magazine.the stories were very favorable about the convertion.seems like IH was the most common tractor "repowered".

I have a few pictures from RPRU if you send me a self addressed stamped Mailer and CD I will send you 189 high res photos including some Cummins conversions. Janicholson 205 Headley hall, St. Cloud State University

There was one for sale online a few months back with a Cummins in it. It couldn't have a bucket on it because the turbo stuck out to far and got in the way of the arms

A front up over the valve cover mounted turbo wuld probably solve the problem.

Also have a look at 4btswaps.com , lots of general info there.

There is a site http://www.vannattabros.com/index.html that somewhere I think there was a Cummins conversion. ( lots of interesting equopment there too )

Thanks for all the replies. I guess project reasearch starts, and the 806 gets a firm offer.
