I'm scrapping the rear-end of a Farmall 140, need anything?

The rear-end, and transmission are toast. The gears are rusted solid. The The top of the transmission has been off for years. The rear-wheel weights are in good condition, but I can't store them. I am going to scrap the entire rear unless one of you guys (or gals) could use some parts.

Video of putting the parts-tractor on the trailer. That thing was tough to get up there.

(quoted from post at 14:48:27 07/16/11) Wheel weights are too good to scrap maybe interested in one or depending on if you would ship them.

For a member on this board with over 500 posts I would have no problem shipping. I'm not trying to make money. All the proceeds have to go to the farmer that gave me the tractor. The condition that he gave it to me was I keep what I needed and if I sold anything to give him the money.

Name your price for one wheel weight and tell me how to ship.

(quoted from post at 15:00:11 07/16/11) Would you be interested in selling the tachometer?
Tom Coughlin

I would love to sell it to you, the only thing is the tachometer is trashed. No glass, no needle, you can't even make out the numbers on the thing. You wouldn't believe the amount of growth I pulled off this tractor. A huge snake even came out the transmission.

I'm going to keep the:

Helper Spring
Fuel Tank
Air cleaner
Thermostat housing
Left side cultivator

Everything else is fair game. The block looks like it's in good condition and old anti-freeze even poured out the tractor. Anything that anyone wants on this forum, name your price. I'm not trying to make money, just pay a little tribute to the man that gave it to me.

Any parts that are still usable you might be able to sell on this site
or craigslist, from what i can see maybe the front rims and hubs, or
the drawbar if it has one, things like that. Good for you for getting
it out of there. I don't have a tractor that any of those parts would
fit on, but I know I am always glad when I can find used parts when
I need them.

I am looking for a hydraulic pump and the lines for a Super A. These would fit yet? If so, is the pump serviceable and what shape are the lines? What do you want for them? Where are you located cause they are gonna have to find their way to Maine.

(quoted from post at 08:31:44 07/17/11) If the seat frame and brakets r any good I would be interested? Andy

I just checked the seat and the frame is solid. The spring is a little weak, but it'll work. The right side is rusted. I sprayed some penetrant on it and I will check it later. Overall I think the seat is a good part. Name your price, tell me where you want me to send it.

Tony, (But you can call me Grape)

Hydraulic pump looks good. Lines are definitely good. Don't know about rubber o-rings. Probably would save you a pile of money. I'm splitting the tractor today. When I get it broken down I will try to snap a pic for you.

If they are savable, or able to be cleaned up I badly need these two gears.

First and reverse gear

sliding gear 14 and 22 teeth 369024R1

First speed counter gear 47 teeth 369021R1

Andy [email protected]

They're not. I'm sorry. They are rusted solid. The cover has been missing for years.

The penetrant broke the rust in the seat frame. It moves back and forth, but I just broke the spring that holds the lever that holds the seat in place.

It's an exact fit. I am in Richmond, Virginia.

(quoted from post at 07:31:45 07/17/11) Which state are you located in?

Is the hood in one piece with the hooks on it?

Jerry

Jerry (JG20601),

I have a hood in better condition than the one on that tractor I will sell for $60 plus shipping. It comes with NEW J-hooks to fasten it with. The hood isn't perfect and has a few dings, but is still nice and quite usable. It is also painted in IH Red Acrylic Enamel with hardener; although you might prefer to repaint it depending on the finish you are trying to achieve. Let me know if you might be intrested, and we'll go from there. My email is [email protected]. I have uploaded some pictures of it for your reference. I will also be posting it on the "Photo Ads" section soon if you don't want it. THANKS!

OR.....Grape,

If Andy doesn't want the seat frame and brackets, I would be intrested in a trade possibly. I am also intested in the Gauges & Switches. Check to see how the On/Off switch and the headlight switch feel when operating them. If smooth and definite "clicks" chances are they will work. LET ME KNOW!!!

Rudi,

He replied with a "picture post" of the parts you mentioned and stated that they both look serviceable. He didn't mention a price, however I am thinking that he just wants you to name a fair price on them. Hope this helps.

Yup, I see that now. Earlier when I refreshed I did not see this so I reposted.

I have no idea what a fair price is. Need help on this guys. I am a Cub guy not a Super A guy -- Yet  just trying to help out a friend get his restored. He has the reservoir but not the lines or the pump. I see that he says the pump looks good. Might only need O-Rings? And the lines are good. All I need to know is what is a fair price and I can pass it along and hopefully giterdone :D

Ideas?

Thanks btw for the help, it is appreciated. Been a long time between posts here lately

Rudi, I am more concerned about money covering the shipping than I am with the price for the parts. The hydraulic lines are just fine and the pump looks good too.

I can list the whole package on ebay if you want. That way you know you're getting some protection.

I haven't shipped for quite a while so I don't know what the rates are. I would clean them up, wrap them in newspaper and styrofoam shipping balls. With the entire cost of the shipping that box and the parts what do you say about $60.00 American dollars.

I would like to give the farmer $40.00 for the parts.

Tony:

Yup that would work for me. They would go to Maine. Can you send me an email and we can work the shipping out? [email protected]

Sorry for the delay, not used to how this forum works anymore. Takes a while for me to find stuff. And to think I used to be here all the time!!! Gonna hve to spend more time here.
