Hi All
Trying to adjust the high idle speed, removed the cover and stop was set.Backed off screw 2 turns and rechecked meter no change.backed off 3 turns and rpm increased by 100. After that adjustment stop was not touching and rpms stayed the same.
Am I going the right way?
Before any adjustments were made the rpm was 1600 high and low was 525 and low stop was not touching, any input will be helpfull.

The factory high idle speed would be 1600 rpm so are you trying for more speed. You do back out the stop screw in gov to get more speed, however, the external linkage has to be able to pull it up against that stop and do so while engine is running. You can easily tell if it is contacting stop while running by grabbing ahold and pushing the lever down by hand, might have to unhook it to get accurate test. A weak gov spring would make it difficult to get more speed as the gov just runs out of room internally.
