Is there a list of serail numbers available just for C and or Super C demo tractors. If so were can I find them. Been looking with no luck.

Thanks

There isn't one that I know of. The factory randomly painted some white and shipped them out. I also heard the dealers painted some white and then back to red after they came in from demo.

Then on top of all that some hobbyists to this day paint them white and call them demo machines.

I also heard the same type of thing. But I was also told that there is a list that the factory had done . I not sure if that is true. But thank you if you happen to find anything out let know if I come up with anythning I will post it.

Thanks again
Gary

From everything I've read they did not keep track of the numbers because the dealer was supposed to repaint them before selling them after they were done with the demo duty. IHC had no way of knowing that one day these tractors would be collected and restored.

In the world of Cubs, it encompasses the first quarter of 1950 !! S/N's go from around 99,000 to 106,000 - evidently not all within that range became demos but no one really knows. Craig

IH made FACTORY white painted Farmall C demos in 1950. The serial number range they fall in is:
47010 to 54411. If your is not in this range, it's a fake.

Not EVERY tractor in this range was white painted, but NONE of them outside this range were painted white.

IH did NOT make factory white painted H, M, Super H, Super M or Super C demo tractors.

It SHOULD, but it I know it won't. There are always people trying to pass off ANY IH tractor from the 1940-50's as being a demo.

They were all done in Jan,Feb,March of 1950. That much is well known. I have documentation of that from Richard Lantis (deceased) that was an IH dealer, and the son of an IH dealer, both saw the original white tractors in 1950, and have actually driven them. Richard was an authority on white tractors (same with all IH tractors) BUT, it is not known if ALL tractors in that range were white. What IH did not do is paint one white, one red, one white, etc. They were done in bunches. I have read that there was 2 groups of white tractors with some red inbetween, as IH decided to paint more after the first batch -- but no one knows for sure.
