That A/H is scrapping a F350D

I guess you know who I mean. Marty2374.

When will a rare tractor near Bay City, MI get so expensive that it can't be scrapped? Maybe we ought to think of MI as Third World and they can't help themselves.

Maybe I am just PO'ed because he never gets any Wheatlands.

I guess we will just let that comment in the middle slide by...not sure what it means anyway. Don't know this guy near Bay City who parts out rare tractors. I know the Steiner family has a bone yard in Grand Blanc. The guys who sold me the B a few years back were north of Bay City a bit but that was just a couple guys with a lot of old tractors in a small yard. If you have a link I would like to see what/who you are talking about. And really, it does not say a heck of a lot about a person when they disparage a whole region based on the actions of one guy.

So much for letting that comment go by!

I think Wardner is referring to Marty Prill of Bad Axe MI, marty2374 on ebay. There is an extensive thread about him in the buyer/seller feedback forum. I think Wardner was expressing his displeasure with mr Prill rather than intending to denigrate the doubtless lovely state of Michigan.

Dave, see the link below. When you get to the item, click on "see other items" for probably 200+ Farmall 350 Diesel items.

All of Marty's inventory comes from public auctions. This would indicate that nobody in that area has the money to outbid Marty on a rare collectable. Ergo, Third World.

And it should be no surprise to you that MI is hurting. Of course, there are alot of other states too.

Marty is from Bad Axe which I think is 30 miles west of Bay City.

BTW, I am a native son of MI. I was born in Ann Arbor and still have alot of family in the lower central parts of the state. I live in MA.

boy your one to talk here you sit with a classic 400 lp and glue all that garbage to it why dont you hang a decent restoration on it and you have something.

There's not one hole on that tractor that wasn't there when it left the factory. Everything I put on can come off and the tractor will be original. I have saved any replaced parts. Any parts that I have modified, were brought new or sourced from salvage yards. Nearly everything is IH. It won't cost the next owner anything in parts to restore.

Moreover, tractors are always modified by the use they are put to. Those attachments can be IH, vendor sourced, or homemade. If you like going to a RPRU and seeing 200 identical H's, so be it.

Oh, and by the way, seventy-five percent of the weight of that F350D will probably wind up in his dumpster. I don't scrap tractor parts unless they are unrepairable but I suspect someone else will after I am gone. I am glad it won't be Marty.

Bad Axe is north east of Bay City proably 60 miles and almost to the tip of the thumb! I talked to a Farmer Friend who used to farm with a 350 diesel long ago and he would not like to have one again! Supposed to do more than a M which it did not,and after much time in the shop it was replaced with a 450D. Im Proably 40 miles southwest of Bay City so is that part of the third world? Bud and Stinky.

I think the whole issue is because the 350 Diesel is a one of a kind. Only energy cell (versus pre cup and direct inj) engine IH ever used that I am aware of, US made anyway. It is a money pit to get parts for though.

(quoted from post at 10:26:03 07/16/11) I still think the Upper Peninsula should sucede from the down state trolls and join forces with Wisconsin. Say ya to da U.P. eh!

We already own them anyway and don't have to pay for them. It's a perfect deal!

The good thing is that the more ones that are scrapped the more 350D's should be worth. Mine should be increasing in value. By the way, there were about 7 350D's at Red Power Roundup. Apparently, people are more inclined to bring the rarer tractors to that show. Roger

As a Yooper I would rather be part of Lower Michigan or even Canada than to be part of Wisconsin.

That explains it right there... Probably don't even realize there is a difference between Mass-a-screwed-up and Michigan since you are from "little California" anyway...

Devil's advocate here, but if you "save" all the F350D's where do you get the parts to make the non-running ones run?
