Super C ???

I have a chance to trade a Farmell Cub for a Super C. I use 3 Cubs now but sometimes find the need for a larger tractor. The guy said he wants a Cub and will do an even trade. Reg. drawbar setup no lift but it runs pretty good and looks fine.
Does anyone have any idea if this would be an ok deal.

If you run the C for a while and determine that it is sound (at least as sound as the cub) I would do it as soon as possible. Jim

Check for curved brake and clutch pedals, Cs are straight SC are curved. When you buy a decal set both SC & C decals come with the set, there are a lot of paint and decal tractors out there.

(quoted from post at 14:23:24 07/15/11) Super Cs are 2-3 times the tractor Cubs are. You will be happy with it, if it is in sound condition.

Cs and Super Cs were tractors to work with, Cubs were toys to play with... there's that much difference. Dad had a Cub for about 2 years ('47-'49) ... Cs and SCs for 35 ('49-'84, the rest of his life).

Tractors of all sizes have a place in this world.
For the 2 acres of flowers I grow I could not do it without the Cubs to culitvate and other jobs in the gardens.

I'm with IH fan. I have decided that Cubs were designed as something to draw attention to the dealer. When a farmer went in and saw how Cubs were good tractors, he would be absolutely blown away by Super As and Super Cs. I can kind of understand buying one 60 years ago, but why own a Cub nowadays (except for sentimental reasons) when you could have a 140, Super C, etc.? Now, bear in mind that I have a 52 Cub that was my grandfather's. I like it, but it could NEVER replace a real tractor.

Cubs have their place... simply trying to illustrate how much difference there is in the two tractors... the Cub is a toy [u:da62ec9b6e]by comparison[/u:da62ec9b6e].
I'm convinced my dad bought the Cub at that time for me to learn how to drive a tractor. I would have been 5 years old and the first things I remember doing with it were pulling a flare box wagon when Dad was combining oats and pulling the rope on the hay fork (the one on a track in the top of the barn). When the local IH dealer's building burned, there was a Cub mounted plow in one corner that did not get burned too bad. Dad bought it to plow the garden, but never used it. In the time it took to mount it, he had it plowed with a two bottom. I pretty much got to drive it around as much as I wanted as a 5 - 7 year old kid. It was handy for doing some chores, but the C was just as handy and did way more real farm work.
