I am looking for my next project and I have some to choose from and mabey you guys can help me choose. I want to pick the one that is worth the most fixed up. I can pick from:
Super mta diesel single front wheel
m diesel narrow front
super m diesel narrow front
400 diesel narrow front
super mta diesel wide front
Witch one is worth more fixed up? witch one would you choose to fix up and restore?

SMDTA with wide front would probably be worth the most fixed up or as is. Any of them are very good condidates to restore as the old diesels are fairly rare. Can be real money pits but are definately worth it when finished!

I am fan of row crop tractors, however, IAkid is on the money in my opinion. with the SMDTA wide front, you have hit just about all of the "desirable" features that exist.

as always, IMHO.

I 3rd that.

I would say SMDTA Wide Front IF the front end is original. If It is aftermarket, the value decreases. Personally, I like tricycles and would do the SMDTA with a single front wheel, but I would love either one. It's hard to make a bad decision here, because these all are good tractors.

SMDTA wide front, just because I like the looks of them. Something just does not look right about a single front wheel, on any tractor.

You'd be much further ahead buying one already restored. Most "restorations" are lucky to cover the price of the parts let alone labor .

SMDTAs are the exception to that rule. They are $10k tractors in good, original condition. They are $20k tractors when restored. It will probably be close to break even if you do a VERY good restoration job, but you won't loose money if you do it yourself.

Something makes me wonder if he is pulling our leg with $30k+ worth of tractors in his shed and he doesn't know where to start. But they may be old family tractors so I will go with it.

dont be a follower and do the 400. stand out from the crowd a bit

be catious though, them old gas start diesels can be a serious money pit in a big hurry!!

I do have all of theese sitting in my shed but I want to do them all eventually but I want to pick the one worth the most to do first. looks like the super mta diesel W/f.
