Farmall H water in oil

I have found a Farmall H that ran 2 years ago and the guy that has it will sell it for scrap price. The issue is that it has water in the oil when I open the upper oil pan valve. It is my experience that this could be as simple as head gasket but could easily be a cracked block. Since nobody has tried to start it I am thinking a block issue but I was also reading about a freeze plug behind the water pump on the early H's and this is a 1941. Does anyone know what these engines have a tendancy to do?

If it runs out the top petcock it has more water than oil in it -- I would look elsewhere. Oil floats on water and should be the first thing to come out when you drain the oil out the bottom. I don't think water will get in the oil from the rear plug, it should just run down the back of the block onto the ground.

I am not so sure they guy did not just put water in it as it had antifreeze in it and the water was very, very clear. I posted another message that this tractor has a "Sears" loder and wondering if they are worth anything. I just hate to see this thing scrapped but there are alot of H"s around.

There is a frost plug behind front cover that will leak into crankcase on those early models H's.

If the tractor hasn't been started in 2 years and/or has been sitting out in the weather, the water could simply be condensation, or rainwater being blown in through the exhaust pipe and into the crankcase. Of course, that would be an incredible amount of condensation to do something like that, and if the water is from the exhaust pipe, then there is a decent chance the motor is stuck.
Check and see if the tractor has antifreeze in the coolant. Now check and see if there is antifreeze in the water from the crankcase. If there is antifreeze in both places, there is a leak somewhere. If not, the water is coming from outside.
