Well I took the pump off for a rebuild. I found the gear was wobbling on the shaft a little bit. The washer was bent up to hold the nut from backing off and the key was in place. The nut was only finger tight though. So I figured some one hadn"t put it back together right and bought a used pump. Now the other pump is slightly different style. Will bolt up and work fine.However the drive gear is in exactly the same shape. It is a little loose and wobbling on the shaft. So is it normal for that gear to wobble a little? If it is I will probably just use the original pump, do to wear patterns on the gears. I haven"t tried IH yet but can I source a new gear?
 
Should not be loose at all, it could take the cam gear with it if it goes. As for the gear new they are over 120 for CaseIH, try and find a good used one.

That is what I figured. I tightened the nut down on the second pump and seems to be ok. I may take things apart again and check clearances of the gear on the shaft. As for the pump that came off the tractor. It looks like the shaft has even been worn by the gear and is no longer round.Even the gear has heaver wear on one side. Hopefully this has been caught in time and no other damage has been done.
