sleeve removal ?

Why does anyone do an inframe overhaul?Half azz at best. You can't get things cleaned up properly. You can't change the rear main seal, check the timing gears for wear or check the clutch. Half azz jobs always bite me in the same place.I say fix it right or scrap it.

Use a sleeve puller. You should pull the crankshaft and have it measured for wear. Buy your bearings from the auto machine shop. It may need to be ground undersize. Hal

Welding Man,Thats certainly been my experience. I have restored five tractors and the SMTA engine looked to good to go all the way down, so, I did an inframe , Well, been into it twice since trying to patch up. I am still not satisfied with it and will do machine shop next year. So far have more money in it then the others, that went to machine shop to begin with.
Just my unfortunate experience. Tony
