I'm bringing a 560D back to life. I've got her running but would like to try her out before I spend more $. I hooked her up to a mower/conditioner this past weekend, and when I applied the weight of the mower's tongue to the drawbar, the fast hitch started "jumping". Not much travel (maybe 1/2 inch) but a constant jump once per second or so. I could observe the cylinder working in and out slightly. Didn't matter what height I set the drawbar.
I decided the cylinder needed rebuilding (it does leak down after a while when sitting). But in browsing the archives, I see a lot about the check valve being a culprit for lots of these problems, but I haven't seen a topic about the hitch jumping with weight applied.
What do you guys think?
I did replace the bad lines/valve to the cylinder with a better looking set from a junked 460. (That was fun.) Also no visible hydraulic leaks now.
And, to try her out, could I replace the cylinder with one of those ratchet gizmos? Or would the tele-depth go crazy being unhooked?
