H-4 magneto problems

Been really busy and havent been on this site for awhile, really missed it!!!
The problem I got is I;ve got a guys Super A and he when to start it for the first time since last summer and no spark. I changed the points and gapped them, changed condensor, tryed new coil inside the mag, impluse is working good it seems. If I put the mag off my farmall H on the the Super A it fires right up. So what do I test/check next??????????????????
Tractor has been at my auto shop for a week and want to get it back to the guy. He needs to mow his yard before the city gets after him.
thanks for the help

Did you have the front off and then got the rotor out of time with the tower on the cap. Taking the one off another tractor doesent prove anything yours doesent fire to the plugs. Is the rotor lined up with the tower when the mag fires thats a good place to start. If that mag was working last fall all it needed probably was to shine the points as they can get burnished over winter cause it was working and setting over winter didnt fall apaer.

Possibly there is a film of oil on the contact points?

Rub those new points with some 320 wet or dry then see if it will start. Did you remove gears inside the mag? If you did they may be out of time.

There is fairly tight fit between the metal case and the terminals for the wire going to the points. If the case grounds out that wire, no spark. On all mine there is two ply of elec tape over that screw and terminal before I put the case back together just to be sure the hot wire ain't grounded to the case. Or else double check that those terminals are pushed inward as far as they will go to clear the case.
