sterring seal

(1)Do you ALREADY have the old seal out?? If so...you can take the old seal to NAPA/O'Reily's/any bearing & seal store and they can most likely cross ref. number on the old seal.

(2) Case/IH dealer.

(3) VERY CAREFUL measurements for seal OD...ID...and thickness. Thickness may not be quite as critical. If old seal is "thick"...you might wanna see if you can get two "thin" seals to take its place.

Good luck....Rick

CaseIH, or get the IH number off the seal itself or out of the parts book and have someone cross it to National or Chicago rawhide. You do not need to measure it. The number tells the story.

CNKS...You are exactly right....however I've seen times when the "numbers" were NOT in the CR or National cross ref. books and had to fall back on the measurement technique....reason I listed that as #3. I worked for several years behind sales counter of large auto parts house and warehouse dist.

If I were still in that line of work, I would be "THE OLD GUY"...doubt seriously I could deal with the computerized stuff today. lollol!!

Rick

Yes that can happen, but I have never seen it happen with a Farmall letter series seal. I believe it did happen on one or two bearings, though.
