120 Balanced Head Mower

I just purchased a 120 Fast Hitch Balanced Head mower at an auction. It has a one way cylinder. Could I just hook ONE of the hydraulic hoses from my Fast Hitch cylinder to run the one way cylinder? I would plug where it comes out of the fast hitch cylinder....or, how can I do this??
Thanks, Cmore

How many Hydraulic levers do you have?

Are there other ports under and in front of the dash?

If your inside seal on the 2pt cylinder leaks by you will need to adjust the height of the hitch.

Not a good idea to use the 2pt valve.

What model tractor are you putting it on & how many valves? Some of the older IHs had the ability to have the valves switched from dual to single action. Maybe if the FH is on a designated hydraulic circut, it might not be a good idea? My apologies, I'm not well versed in the hydraulic systems that are post 1963.

Actually three levers...but two are for the Touch Control...one is for the rear, or Fast Hitch..and no, a Super C does NOT have a "dash"..Cmore

I'm betting one of those levers is connected to a valve body that just needs some couplers hooked up to it.

I don't think they used all 3 levers to control the 2 pt hitch.

But I could be wrong.

It is possible you can change the function of the valves. I checked CaseIH's manuals site & they don't have a PDF for the Touch Control system for me to examine. Nor is the parts site very helpful. The parts list for the T/C is missing info for me to be of any help. Post a new question on how to adjust the T/C valves on a Super C & someone should be able to help out.

Ia Gary, your right...the main lever controls the Fast Hitch cylinder, and it IS hooked up to a seperate control valve...do I just tap off this control valve with ONE hydraulic hose??
Thanks, Cmore

Can I just "tap" right ahead of where the two hoses go to the FAst Hitch cylinder....and put an open center control valve there? Problem is, I have a "controller" with ONE input line and two output lines..guess I need one with two in and two out??Cmore

Get us a picture of the box those levers are hooked to and someone here will tell you which plug to take out to hook your single hose into for your mower.

Yes one hose will work.

Gary

NO, one hose will NOT work.

If you leave the second hose attached to the fast hitch cylinder, the hitch will go up and down when you raise/lower the mower.

If you cap off the second hose, you will deadhead the system every time you lower the mower, and possibly blow out your hydraulic pump.

So if I hooked up just ONE hose to the mower and left the other hose on the Fast Hitch cylinder, it would work, as long as I could live with the fast hitch going up and down as I raised and lowered the cutter bar?? I think I could live with that....if it would work...thanks, Cmore
