Need help installing Planter Drive Gear onto Hybrid Farmall

I'm trying to install a Planter Drive gear on my "Super A" tractor. It is actually a Hybrid tractor that was built from a Farmall A with a Super C torque tube and engine. It was done by previous owner and has proved to be a good idea. There are a few quirks though having it being a hybrid tractor. I've had to use the Farmall A cultivator mounting brackets because of the bolt pattern on the final drives. And my question now, is how do I install the planter drive sprocket to the final drive, or can I?? I removed the cover plate off of the left (looking from rear) final drive, and noticed that it doesn't have the place to mount the drive gear like my other tractors have. There is only a large bolt there, and the other Super A's I have, have a "collar" type peice that the gear seats into and you put a bolt through that to secure it.

Is that "Collar" type peice removable, and able to mount to the final drive on my tractor? If so, how do you remove/attach it. THanks!!!

Ok, here's the deal. I thought about looking at the parts breakdown on Case/IH website, and found how it is attached, or what the parts consist of. I went to inspect my other Super A tractor, and the seal with retainer was held on by (4) 9/16 bolts. After that was taken off, you could remove the big center bolt inside the "bushing" as the website calls it. Once that was removed, the bushing just slides off.

When I was installing the assembly onto the Super A "Hybrid" tractor, I found a steel ring (probably just for protection) sitting around the keyed drive on the final drive. I removed that ring, and the assembly bolted right up!! Now I can mount the planter to the Hybrid Super A tractor! I HOPE THIS INFO HELPS SOMEONE OUT IN THE FUTURE!

Only part of the A cults that mount to the final drive is the rear tooling. Something is messed up as the cults just dont mount to the final drive. How are you going to raise the cult and what model of cult are you using. I have the lift assys for exhaust lift, the hand lift for the A-134,136 AND 138. The hand lift for the 134 is different than the 136 and 138. I have the 134 for an A The 138 and the 437 veggie model. Need better info.

I have the drive sprocket that bolts to the final. I got your planter mixed up with the cult. The final drive for the A takes what i have as thats where it came from do you need the sprocket also.

Gene,

This tractor is made up from the rear of a Farmall "A" and the front of a Farmall "A". The center torque tube and engine (hydraulic resivoir too) are all from a Super C tractor. Once all combined, it made it a Super A 'Hybrid' as I call it. To the average farmer, you'd never know it wasn't a true Super A.

I was able to mount the sprocket drive assembly from a parts Super A tractor I have. It bolted right up fine. That part on the final is exactly the same as the Super A finals. Also, I have 7 or 8 of the gear sprockets, but I appreciate your offer.

Below are some before and after photos of the Hybrid Super A tractor. Again, the previous owner did the conversion. All I did was get her going, add a gas tank from a Farmall 100, install a new ring gear, clean her up, and paint it. Oh.....and I had the head re-worked.

I have a B that they did the same thing. Thee parts are all from a SA or a C. They mounted a cut-off steering support on top of a bat box they made so the hy controls are just like the SA-C. Used the lite control from the B. I didnt look the part# on the block. Then they mounted a disc plow from a SA under neath. i didnt get the plow but the mount was there and now is in its new home in Tenn. Guy had the plow but not the mount for his SA so it made him quote"most happy fellow in Tenn". I use my SB with Allis Chalmers planting units for sweet corn. Works well . Tractor had almost new tires 9.5 with 45 bar tread it starts and runs well saved me making one myself. Now i need a cult from a C,SC redrill so it mounts where the original B does. Just another thing to play with.
