666 Unloading Valve Help Please

3 pt. wasn't functioning properly. It would only lift with the remote lever. Was informed here that the unloading valve is to blame.

Cover off.
Snap ring out
Plug out.
Piston out.

Now, do I need to take the ball seat, ball, spring out too? Is that where my gunk/rust is causing the trouble?

If I do have to take seat out...HOW do I get the valve/cylinder assembly out? I've been able to get this far without removing the valve. Don't think I can unscrew that seat while its in the tractor. I+T is worthless to me. Please advise. Thanks a million! Always amazed at the knowledge here.

Also, should I go ahead and remove that tall drainplug/standpipe to prevent leaks while I'm in here? Thanks!

If you have the piston out, blow it out real good as there is a small orfice in it, check to see that it still has spring tension on pin of piston, put on a new o-ring and try it. Try to look in at the ball and seat to see if any foreign material is under the ball. The o-ring is a special S treated o-ring, they always had the part number stamped right on the o-ring, don't know if they still do. If you have to take out the whole draft control valve and cyl it isn't all that bad, just some pesky linkages to contend with.

Thanks Pete. I ended up getting the cylinder and valve out after all. Those linkages were very pesky! Hope I can find the pin I dropped! Lift piston looks pretty roughed up...might see about replacing it. Which o-ring are you saying is special?
