IH 700 on land hitch plow

I have a chance to buy an IH 700 plow. It is a 8 bottom but has an add on bottom so it could be made into a 7 bottom. He also told me I could go down to a 6 bottom by taking off the 7th bottom and then unbolting the rear wheel assembly and moving it forward as the bolt holes are all there. But I would have a section of frame sticking out the back. Is this possible to do, make a 6 bottom out of it??

yes it can be made into a six bottom, i bought a seven bottom and made it into a nine bottom. caution the big land wheel on those plows can break easily and it takes a good blacksmith to fix permenatly. never atempt to turn until plow is out of ground.
