brake adjustment

I just purchased a international 300 and need to adjust the brakes, and what type of trans fluid is recommended. when using the backhoe, fluid is leaking from the (PS pump)located on top of the trans. any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is one adjustment for the brakes, that "ball nut" on the front where the rod comes out to connect to the pedal. Usually that doesn't make any difference.

What you need to do is take the brakes apart, clean them up, replace the fiber disks.

The standard hydraulic pump on the tractor is on the right side of the engine near the front. There is no "PS pump" on top of the transmission.

Backhoe attachments will either run the pump off the front of the engine, or off the PTO.

Obviously, oil is leaking, but not from a pump if it's ON TOP. There's no easy adjustment to make it go away. A seal/o-ring/gasket has failed and needs to be replaced. You're just going to have to take whatever this is apart, see what's wrong, and fix it.
