Charlynn Problem Help!!!!!

Just got done putting a used Charlyn torque generator on 54 Super H using the live hyraulics.
The steering is very hard and sometimes jerks the steering wheel.
Do I have a bad torque generator??

Hi Bob,

Jack up the front end and cycle thru the steering end to end a dozen times to get the air out of the system.

Did you use a shaft coupler with the flexible pieces? Or the solid one? Using a plain solid coupling will do that if it is out of line 1/8 of an inch.

I have driven it around about a half a mile, with no change.
Any other ideas are appreciated.

Does the torque generator have a nice smooth feel with out engine running. You should be able to feel the valve mechanism moving. That is the free play in the unit itself that I am referring to. That first little movement of input shaft without any movement of output shaft is the valve moving to direct flow internally.Then, does it turn smoothly with front wheels off the ground and engine not running. Other thing is , what flow divider valve did you hook up to your live power pump setup.

And.... did you hook the priority flow port of the flow divider valve to the PS and not the secondary? Too much flow might cause your problem.
