i have an old steel wheeled side delivery IH hay rake and the drive chain broke. the chain has 72 1/2 stamped on it and i cant find any chain that size anywhere. Anyone have any ideas or some laying around in their barn somewhere? thank you.

The 72 stamped on it indicates the size of the service chain. I have an old #5 IH four bar side delivery rake on pneumatics that uses that same size of chain. It took a couple of phone calls around the area to locate some when I needed it, but it is still readily available if you know what to ask for. If the Cowman can't hook ya up I know TSC has it in their catalog and most other farm stores here in Southern Wisconsin stock it or have quick availabilty on it. Some places will even have a connector link available if you don't want to mess around with trying to open up and bend a standard link. Give the Cowman a shot though...he'll treat ya right.

i found some 72 but no 72 1/2 But it is available

i found some 72 1/2 chain and it looks like what you have in the picture but my broken chain is a rectangle hole and completely flat. the stuff i found and the picture is a tapered hole i dont think that will fit.
