560 hydraulic question

I'm glad this isn't my only tractor right now, I also have an electrical problem I can't chase down (see topic 560 electrical mess).

We were out cutting hay the other day with the 560 and it was running great, then after 2 hours or so it seems like the hydraulics would not unload and started dragging down the engine to the point of actually sputtering.

It has a 2pt hitch that I suspect is the problem. Anytime you touch the other 2 remotes (loader, haybine, etc) the teledepth system will start to draw on the hydraulic system until you move the control lever slightly down. That will usually unload the hydraulic system. This weekend that stopped working after 2 hours or so of running. Did the oil just overheat?

I suspect that the filter could be changed, but it has done this even after a brand new was installed. Beyond that I don't have a clue.

I found the same problem with mine AFTER I bought it. Now I hear this is a common problem with them.
Some have told me that the tiny hole in the valve body of the block below the spools can be enlarged to allow more oil flow which will help shut off the demand. Dont open it up with out a diagram and apecial tool to put it back together or you will learn some new words.
their possibly is a post by some one that has more knowlege than I but it is common.

What about the pencil like screen thing in the valve body, replaced one many years ago, hyd would get hot and tele a depth strained the system

I would go for the orfice screen in regulator valve assembly first. Depending on tractor vintage, there was an improved teledepth valve with a crescent shaped groove machined in below regulating land in the valve which made for better operating hitch. I have drilled many an orfice screen out but you need wire gauge drill bits and go only a few thousands over the .031 original size. Also, originally they had check ball in the screen orfice that bounced back and forth and closed the hole. It has hardened seat and is difficult to drill to proper size.

Drilling an orafice sounds a little beyond my ability and tools.

Do you know anyone in MN area (around Duluth) that works on these systems?

I would pay someone else to repair this if they knew what they were doing. The entire hydraulic system could probably use updating (new o-rings, gaskets, and such).

Wrong part of Minn for me. You could just take the orfice out and inspect, clean screen or get a new one. It is under the four bolt cover on regulator valve which sits under the other hydraulic valves. Screwdriver head on orfice. It has a very heavy spring under cover so use a couple of longer bolts after taking out two bolts and for reassembling also. I have no idea if you have a dealer in your area for parts. Gasket, o-ring , orfice, etc. Note, the orfice is priced along with gold.

some times it pays to have a parts tractor, had that problem a few months ago.thanks to the guys in this forum i got it fix.THANKS AGAIN TO ALL AND SOME OF YOU THAT PULLED MY EARS . GASTON
