Super A gas tank same as super C gas tank

I think they mount differently on the bottom. I do not think they are exactly the same.

Wait for Gene Bender, or Jim Becker to say for sure, but I don't think they are interchangeable.
 
I thought the question was if they are the same dimensions.

Different mounting brackets maybe? But doesn't the same tank fit on both brackets?
 
To the best of my knowlege they are the same if we are talking about both tractors without water pump those would be the same and alsotthose with facctory water pump would be the same. The ones i have hac were both factory without water pumps. When they went ot factory water pumps they had a taller radiator and the tabs on the gas tank were taller.I would think you wont know until they are side by side.

It's been many years ago when I got a tank for my Super A. It took a couple of tries before I found the right one. If I recall, the Super A can have 3 different tanks depending on serial number.
I suggest looking up by part number at www.caseih.com for your serial number and then check the number used on the Super C.

Without going throught he parts books and looking up the numbers, I think what K-Mo said is right. If there weren't 3 different tanks, there were at least 3 different sets of mounting brackets.

I think the tank had to be changed (something similar to what gene said) when the Super C with the taller radiator came out. They may have used that tank on the later SUper A with different brackets.
