Where does the graphite like round seal go on carb #45108DA, when performing a complete rebuild (kit from TSC)? Is it part of the packing for the main fuel needle (cause it now leaks)? The rebuild made all the difference in the world... Runs and idles great, with no stumbling upon acceleration. Thanks DeltaRed and Glennster, you where correct. The float was toast.
 
My kit (from Steiner's) had a thick felt washer for that bottom jet. I think I overtightened the nut (first time I ever rebuilt a carb) and now mine leaks there also. Is this piece available separately, or is there something I can use in there?

The felt ring is used on the choke shaft as a dust seal.

The packing you need is part number 24703DA available from your CNH dealer.

Actually, that fuzzy little piece of felt belongs nowhere on an H or an M carburetor. It WILL, in a pinch, serve as the the choke shaft dust seal, but is far from being correct.
 
I have not used a kit from Steiner's but the ones that I have used have had two pieces of felt in them, The felt plug was the carb drain filter and the felt ring fit on the choke shaft.
