Farmall F12

My dad has a farmall f12 on steel wheels. It has the single wheel in front and he wanted to know if that was rare. He thinks it"s around 1935 model. Thanks for any help.

See them all the on e bay have seen them at several local tractor shows, I would say that they are not that rare.

Condition and originality can make it it a bit rare, but IH built quite a few of them. Steel wheels for any of the F series are not necessarily rare, but alot of them got converted to rubber tires, or were bought with rubber and the steel wheels scrapped.

So, if completely original, good original condition, and steel, not what I would call "rare", but sure ain't common. Steel front wheels are less common than the rears.

Lot's of F-12's out there, and alot of them have been modified or are rubber.

That is why I said condition and originality were more a factor than the model........this is all IMHO on my part.

The back wheels arent that rare depending what style they are but they are generally pretty common. As far as the front wheel being steel it wasnt rare when they were built but as others have said alot of them have been cut down and rims welded on. So single front steel wheels arent rare, but they are harder to find.

Dan, is your front wheel a flat-spoke wheel or is it the Stamped one that looks like two pie plates riveted together. The one that looks like pie plates is an early Waukesha wheel and is much more desirable / valuable. It would be one of the hardest pieces to find when restoring an early F12.

About the only thing I would consider "rare" in the F series is the F30 Cane

IH made 4 differnt styles of single front wheels for the F-12 alone. Only one style for the F-20, and None for the F-30.

i dont consider an F-12 with a single front rare at all. they simply made waay too many of them for that.

Single front F-20 is quite a bit more rare. I own one, and know of about 5 others and thats it. pretty scarce if you ask me. Seen plenty more widefront 20's than i ave singles

I would disagree with 36F30 about Canes being one of the rarest of the F series. I would consider a narrow tread 30 with the early non adjustable widefront probably one of the rarest. 30 canes are seen quite regularly at RPRU's. theres around 17 F-30 canes in Iowa alone that in know of :?
