Have a Farmal BN, no serial number, no ID plate. I hafta get it out of the barn to see if it actually runs -- hasn't been started for several years, but I know the engine isn't locked up. This is a project I never got to and probably never will. I live in western central Ohio, near Dayton. Anybody got a guess what the tractor is worth?

I have a B that runs and drives. It does have a hiccup in the trans and a repaired block. I have only had a couple calls on it at $900. BNs are worth a little more to some and a little less to others. I hear the Bs are gaining popularity because you can add a buddy seat.

You can find the SN stamped on the engine block. It is on the right side of the engine under the No. 1 plug. The B's, BN,s and A's all used the same engine number and serial number. If the engine is original, that would be the SN. Be sure to look for a stamped number, not a cast in number. There is a small flat area about 1 1/2 inches long and about a 1/4 inch wide.

If its in running condition, 1000-1200.
I would pay somewhere around 500-600, If the sheet metal is on
good condition, and the tires held air and had good tread. Shoot a
picture and we can give you a better assessment.

I sold a good running B about a year ago with straight tin and no name plate for about $1,100. It did need paint.

Thanks guys. I haven't started it, but I need a battery, and the paint is awful. And I found the serial number, just where you said it would be: 2774. I never knew that it was stamped there. Now, let's see if I can add a picture for you without mucking it up too badly . . . .

OK, at the risk of belaboring this, upon further inspection of the numbers stamped into the engine block, just below the N0. 1 spark plug, is the following: IMAM G 2774. What do all those letters mean? I provided a photo, such as it is, and I'm not sure you can see it all; the 2 is a little hard to see.

It appears that the engine is not original. The prefix should be FAB, possibly with an M after it for "motor". I would guess yours to be a prefix for a power unit or industrial unit of some sort.

Not to throw a wrench on any thing but ,I own a few BN's and the spring on the seat does not belong on the seat. With out looking at the rear of the tractor hard to tell if it a bn. Also the tag under the seat should start with a FABN
