Marty2374 put me on his blacklist

Just a warning here. Marty just had a 560 with four items I wanted. Previously, he refunded my money and half the shipping on an auction for a bent IH Fast Hitch cylinder. I left no feed back, good or bad. He was actually obligated to refund 100% of the shipping. I kept the cylinder for parts which I have subsequently used.

Now I am barred from bidding on his auctions. It's his loss, as well as mine, because half the items I formerly bought sold with only one bid. If you are selling good items, you need all the bids you can get.

But maybe he or a friend (does he have any?) reads this forum. I thought I treated him fairly on my previous thread. I might as well give him some negative feedback. We can both play this game.

Wow you got ALL your shipping back?

I bought a chainsaw bar that was totally misadvertised. It wasn't the same as what was pictured. It wasn't the same as what was advertised.

Being the nice guy that I am I sent it back at my own expense. They would only refund HALF the shipping!

mkirsch,

You're reading too fast. I only got 1/2 of the shipping. eBay's Buyer Protection allows for 100%.
We never got to that level of protection. He sent the refund prior to my filing. I accepted the shortfall in lieu of returning the cylinder. His barrel was better than a slightly rusted one that I had.

Won't work he'll still showup as the old name, then all the seller has to do is block the new username. The only away around it is open a new account or have someone else bid on items.

He might just get suspicious if suddenly he had a fresh bidder with the shipping address "next door" to Wardner
From all the toruble he has caused, I don't think I'd get all broken up about it. There are other salvage places around that do an honest business.

Yeah, I will probably establish a new account using the garage down the street. He doesn't use eBay and we get along well.

If you know this guy is "A mechanical device intended to make a task easier", why are you still doing buisness with him? He can't be the only cat on ebaG that sells number series Farmall parts. Is he? If he don't wan't your buisness, I wouldn't think it would be any skin off of your nose. Now, have a malted & go practice your sax. :v)

1) Because he scraps alot of IH models that I also own.

2) Because every auction starts at $9.99 and most of his stuff gets only one bid or no bids.

3) Because he does extensive disassembly and listing. For instance, on the 560 he had one auction on the long bolts for the hydraulic valve assembly. Most people would throw them away. He got no bids on those. I want to add another valve to my 660. I will now have to use threaded rod. I'll never see those bolts again on eBay.

4) He ships fast and allows for multiple shipping discounts. Can't say much for his packing skills.

5) Some of his stuff seems to ship below cost but I am sure he gets a good discount with his volume. (over 16,000 auctions)

Since his stuff always goes cheap, how is he able to stay in business? Unless he is stealing the tractors he is parting out? Even if he has no initial investment, the Ebay fees are eating most of his profit, and if there is no profit, why is he doing it? Maybe his junk yard business is a cover for some other, more lucrative endeavor? Is that other endeavor legal?

Just some random thoughts. Teake 'em for what they're worth.

I've bought quite a few parts from him, haven't had a problem-yet. Only problem I have is that fact that he butchers up some pretty nice running tractors- many are probably a lot nicer than the ones the parts are bought for LOL
