Zenith Carb Quesiton

I just bought a 1947 B. It has a Zenith carb on it. Runs great until I slow the idle all the way down. Then it wants to smoke. If I give it more gas it seems to quit.

Do I need to adjust the mixture? I don"t want to get it so it runs worse.

Is the smoke black or gray in color or is it sort of blue?

I'd say it's gray or maybe blue gray. I can check again tonight.

If it was or is black smoke that is a small carb problem and the idle is set to rich but if it is a blue/gray then that is an oil smoke

Does your carb have the adjustable jet on the bottom facing the generator. If not there is no adjustment and the carb mite need a kit.

Smoke is light gray. There is an adjustment towards the generator. Is that oil?
