1954 Super H hydraulics

I have a 1954 Super H can anyone tell me which ports are pressure and which are return ports on the live hydraulic ?
Thanks Bob F

If its two way just hook it up and if you dont like the way the lever pulls for up position change ports. If its single way the hy fluid goes back the same hose that raiseswhen the pressure is released. You didnt say which system you are using.

The basic hydraulic system on a 1954 Super H is a ONE-way system. All you will have is the hydraulic "block" under the gas tank, and one lever.

There are two ports on a casting that protrudes from the rear of the hydraulic block on the left side. Those are your pressure/return ports. BOTH ports provide pressure when you pull the lever back, and BOTH ports allow the fluid to return when you push the lever ahead.

Two-way hydraulics are an add-on. You need a separate "open center" two-way valve. To hook it up, you connect one of the one-way pressure/return ports to the IN on the valve. You connect the OUT from the valve to the 1" drain hole located on the back of the hydraulic block on the right side. Mount the valve somewhere convenient. Run hoses from the "work" ports on the valve to the rear of the tractor and install quick-connects.

To run the two-way valve, you first lock the lever on the hydraulic block in the "back" position. Now oil flows through the two-way valve, which you can use to control a two-way cylinder.

Thanks for the imfo. What im trying to do is use the live hydraulics for power steering, so i need a constant flow.
Thanks Bob

You need a priority valve. It uses constant output of the pump (main lever locked back) and diverts the required pressure to the steering torque motor. It is not---not-- the entire output from the pump. the other pressure port must be blocked off. Ports from the priority valve "drain" are directed to other uses, like a two way valve. Jim
