656 clutch pedal play

The clutch pedal on my Farmall 656 seems to have as much movement side to side as up and down. I suspect the casting is worn on the shaft. Anyone have any idea"s for a fix?

You can have a machine shop install a bushing. The pedal has such a large slot where it pivots on the shaft that you don't have a lot of surface so I have them put a bushing in and just put a hole for the grease fitting and then you will be on a lot of unworn surface on the shaft. The thing about that shaft is you cannot pull it out as it has a slot in it for the ring gear so you would have to take the differential out to get shaft out.
