460 HI-UTILITY

Yes,I know thy made a 460 utility,I own one,i'm asking if there are int 460 Hi-utility. I also own a 350 Hi-utility witch I thaught were the only Hi-utility's made, any advice would be helpful. going to Redpower roundup tomorrow someone there I'm sure has the answer.thanks,Pete.

Yes, they made a HI-Utility 460. Don't know anything about total production numbers though. One of the first tractors I got to operate was a 460 HI-Ute LPG, it was a serious lemon but I wish it was still here. Seems like one years production numbers were missing, only 13 LPG HI-Utes made in the other four years!

Yes, they definitely made one, as my uncle next door has one he bought last year and saved from the scrappers. We got it running, but little else has been done to it.

I remember this very tractor being discussed in Red Power Magazine a couple of years back, and one source reported that there were approximately 1300 made. This number was based on shipping/freight records as I recall.

Definitely not 1300 -- My info comes from Ken Updike who is familiar with such things, and has seen the data.

CNKS,

If your fellow has the info, then I yield to you/him. I know there was a blurb in a RP Magazine article some time back. I started through my back issues, but haven't found it yet. 500 or fewer seems like a more realistic #. I have only seen one other besides the one my uncle has, and that was in the 70s and it had a loader on it and was worn out from one end to the other--- a neighbor had it. If I can get a decent picture of the one my uncle has, I'll post it--- it's sitting in a dark tool shed, buried behind other equipment.

130 1958, 137 1959, data missing 1960, 76 1961, 18 1962, none in 1963. Excluding 1960: 77 diesel, 13 LPG, the rest gas. Using the average of 1959 and 1961 (only a guess) makes 467 total.
