Super A question

I have a chance to get a Bush Hog brand rear finish mower but the specs say it is made for a tractor with 15 to 35 hp, The tractor has a 3 point.
my question is does the Super A have enough power to run the mower and not harm the tractor?

thanks, john

a Super A will run up to a 5 footer well in maintained lawn grass, just keep in mind its a finish mower and not a brush hog and you wont have a issue.

I think you would be happier with a Woods L59 Belly Mower on your Super A. Front end will be a tad light with the rear mount. Lots of strain on the connecting rod to the rear rockshaft?

Purchase along with it , an over running clutch for the PTO spline at the tractor. The tractor will then stop when you push in the clutch. If you don"t, the mower"s rotational inertia (flywheel effect) will push you into fences and trees. It takes a practiced operator to safely use the tractor without, and it is still iffy. Jim

Thanks Jim, I have over running on a 8n so I know that is a good idea, the bush hog mower is only $300 is why I am considering it.

Its a 5 footer, after I looked it up was concerned it might be too large, we are only mowing about 6 acres of lawn grass so it should work from what you guys are telling me.

Thanks for all your opinions, john
